You can learn how to deal with anxiety. For those of us who get with anxiety attacks, we distinguish what it feels like. Our heart pounds. We get butterflies in our tummy. We fear and fret over everything and anything. We've hot and cold sweats. Our throats go dry and we've difficulty swallowing, just to name a few.
These anxiety attacks can appear from no where. I have spoken with many people who've said "my life is great; I do not understand why I am suddenly suffering with anxiety attacks". This is the character of the beast. There is no chosen format for anxiety attacks. They can occur to people whose lives are going truly well, in addition to those who lives usually are not going so well.
null It's not like having a cold or any other illness, where there signs are typical and easy to see and identify.
Understanding what anxiety attacks are will help you to have better control and assist you dealing with anxiety. It's normal to worry and feel tense or fearful when under burden or facing a taxing condition. Anxiety is the body's usual response to danger, an automatic alarm that rings when we feel threatened.
From my personal understanding off living with anxiety attacks, I'm aware of the reality that the more you think about the anxiety the stronger the symptoms become. The stronger the indications, the stronger the anxiety attacks become. Then you are in the realms of a viscous circle. This is when it becomes really hard to over come your anxiety attacks.
It's not till you really become aware of the truth that your thoughts have shaped your anxiety, so it stands to reason that if you've manifested the anxiety attack then obviously you can create the anxiety attacks. This element is really tough for people to understand. And I know exactly how they think! When I was told this, I rejected it. Why would I desire to do this to myself? It didn't make sense.
But finally no matter how much I tried to ignore that reality, it was accurate, my thoughts where the base of my anxiety. I experimented with it. The higher I focused my energy on the anxiety the more powerful my anxiety attack became. So with the help of a therapist, I was able to work on my thoughts and defeat my anxiety.
It could be a lie to say I am anxiety free, but I am much more able to cope with anxiety, I've more coping strategies. Dealing with anxiety is now much easier for me.
Another to remember , is that anxiety may be unpleasant, but it is not always a difficult thing. This anxiety can help up be alert, the adrenalin can keep us focused. When anxiety is relentless, when it interferes with relationships and activities-that is when you've crossed the line from normal anxiety into the territory of anxiety problems.
